Annual Reviews est une organisation à but non lucratif dont la mission est de fournir à la communauté scientifique des synthèses de littérature primaire dans un large spectre de disciplines. Ces comptes-rendus (« reviews ») fournissent des examens périodiques et systématiques sur les avancées scientifiques dans une discipline donnée. Ils forment un point départ idéal pour se familiariser avec un nouveau sujet de recherche ou pour évaluer des technologies en émergence. Annual Reviews a publié un livre blanc qui explique le rôle et l’intérêt des reviews pour les chercheurs et les étudiants : the Role of the Critical Review Article in Alleviating Information Overload.
